Farm Bureau Commemorates
Food Check-Out Week
Farm Bureau is celebrating Feb. 4-10 as Food Check-Out Week. This
week commemorates the time of year when most Americans have earned
enough disposable income to buy food they eat, both at home and
away from home, for the rest of the year.
With the theme “Celebrating
Safe, Abundant, Affordable Food,” Farm Bureau members first recognized
Food Check-Out Week ten years ago. During this week, Farm
Bureau groups across the nation commemorate by making food and
monetary donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities or other
worthy causes.
The Colorado Farm Bureau (CFB) Women’s Committee will donate
$1000 in groceries to the Denver Ronald McDonald House. The
committee will also prepare dinner for the 35-40 guests who are
staying at Ronald McDonald House while their sick or injured child
is being treated at a nearby hospital. Contributions from
county Farm Bureaus and Farm Bureau members across the state made
the donations possible.
